Guiné-Bissau – For every child, participation. The UNICEF Internship Programme offers qualified and eligible students at both Headquarters (HQ) and Country Offices (CO) the unique opportunity to acquire direct practical experience in UNICEF's work and the United Nations system under the direct supervision of experienced UNICEF staff. To be considered for an internship with UNICEF, applicants must meet the following requirements: Be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree programme or have graduated within the past two years; and Good oral and written skills in English and Portuguese is required, knowledge of French is an asset Knowledge of relevant computer systems and applications; excellent knowledge of Search Engine of data collection. Experience working with children / youth organisations is an advantage. Knowledge /experience in child right, Relevant communication skills (verbal and written) Have excellent academic performance as demonstrated by recent university or institution records. Purpose of the internship: UNICEF Child Protection interventions include protecting children, especially the most vulnerable, from all forms of violence, exploitation, abuse and harmful practices, all of which contributes to the achievement of targets in Sustainable Development Goals 5, 8 and 16. Specific areas of work include Social Services Workforce Strengthening, Justice systems strengthening, Children on the Move, Violence Against Children, Female Genital Mutilation and child marriage. Child Protection response also includes prevention or response services for children affected by humanitarian crises and armed conflict, including in areas such as Mental Health and Psychosocial support, among others. In Guinea-Bissau, UNICEF is supporting the Government, in collaboration with its partners, to strengthen the Child Protection system and promote social change to prevent and respond to violence against children in the country.
